President Zardari confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz (M) on UAE Naval Chief

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Staff Major General Humaid Abdulla Alremeithi, Commander of the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces, in a special ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The president said the decoration was in recognition of General Alremeithi’s distinguished services and his role in promoting defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE.

He noted that the UAE Naval Chief’s visit was a testament to the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries and their resolve to enhance collaboration in diverse areas.

President Zardari commended the UAE Navy for actively joining Aman Dialogue-25 and Exercise Aman-25, saying such participation contributed to regional maritime stability.

He also welcomed the trust the UAE had placed in the professional competence of the Pakistan Navy and pledged continued assistance in fulfilling the UAE Navy’s manpower needs.

Describing Pakistan-UAE ties as extraordinary and exemplary, the president emphasized that the relationship extended beyond mutual strategic interests and was firmly rooted in deep people-to-people connections. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further consolidating these historic fraternal bonds.

In his remarks, General Alremeithi expressed his attachment to Pakistan, recalling the four years he spent in the country while graduating from the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi.

The ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, former National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former Senate Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
