Dar seeks Singapore's support in repatriation of Pakistanis, Iranians aboard seized vessels

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday spoke with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, requesting Singapore’s assistance in supporting the welfare and return of 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian sailors aboard ships detained by US authorities close to Singaporean waters.

Sharing details on X, the deputy premier stated that Pakistan is in constant contact with US officials and other concerned stakeholders to guarantee the safety, well-being and swift repatriation of the Pakistani nationals involved in the incident.

He further said that he also spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, noting that Pakistan and Iran are maintaining close coordination over the situation.

DPM Dar added that Pakistan is fully prepared to help facilitate the secure return of the Iranian crew members to their homeland through Pakistan.

He also expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support extended by Singapore regarding the matter.
