Govt approves civil awards for 78 individuals

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has given the go-ahead for civil awards to 78 people in acknowledgement of their remarkable sacrifices, bravery and exceptional services rendered to the country.

The approval came during a special meeting of the committee responsible for considering gallantry awards, which was chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Saturday.

The committee reviewed and approved honours under different categories for individuals who had made notable contributions and shown outstanding courage while facing challenging circumstances.

Addressing the gathering, the interior minister stressed that acknowledging and motivating people who had laid down their lives for the country or demonstrated extraordinary bravery was a national obligation.

“The country remains indebted to the martyrs and ghazis for their everlasting sacrifices,” Naqvi said, underscoring that the courage, commitment and services of those who served the nation would continue to be remembered.

The interior minister added that the sacrifices made by the martyrs and the courage displayed by the ghazis constituted a valuable national asset and reflected an enduring legacy of loyalty and dedication to the country.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Additional Secretary Cabinet and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

Officials representing all four provinces also joined the proceedings through video link and took part in discussions concerning the proposed awards.
