Taliban regime's continued restrictions hamper humanitarian aid in Afghanistan: report

New York (Web Desk): The Taliban government’s ongoing restrictions in Afghanistan are increasingly hampering efforts to provide essential humanitarian assistance to people in need.

According to the United Nations (UN) Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 18 aid programmes across the country were still suspended in July after facing interference from Taliban authorities.

Measures restricting women’s participation also posed significant difficulties for humanitarian agencies, affecting their ability to carry out relief activities and reach vulnerable communities.

The security situation remained another concern, with OCHA reporting 12 incidents involving violence against humanitarian workers and aid assets during July. The month also saw 12 aid workers taken into custody.
