Middle east peace near as Hamas agrees on key ceasefire points: Trump

Washington  (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has claimed that significant progress is being made in the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza, and a peace agreement is expected very soon.

Speaking to the media at the White House, President Trump said that Hamas has agreed on several important points during the talks, and all major countries have supported the Gaza peace plan. He stated, “We are about to resolve a 3,000-year-old conflict in the Middle East.”

He mentioned that Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia are also involved in the peace efforts and are playing their roles. Trump added that Hamas respects Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is using his influence in the matter.

President Trump warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against adopting a negative stance on the issue of hostages. According to him, the Israeli public also wants the hostages to be returned and the conflict to end.

In his remarks, Trump claimed that his policies have prevented several wars, including a possible war between Pakistan and India. “Through trade and tariffs, we stopped seven wars, and during the India-Pakistan tensions, seven planes were shot down, but we stopped that crisis as well,” Trump said.

Turning to American politics and domestic issues, he blamed the Democrats for the government shutdown and accused them of wanting to provide healthcare to illegal immigrants.

Trump also criticized former President Obama, saying his policies and subsidy schemes harmed the economy. He stated that peace was restored after the deployment of the military in Washington D.C., while Chicago continues to face unrest.

Finally, referring to his recent speech at the United Nations, Trump explained that the teleprompter malfunctioned, and people in the hall could not hear him clearly. He added that his wife, Melania Trump, later informed him that the headphones were also not working.
