India could not shoot down any Pakistani plane during clashes in May: DG ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that India was unable to down a single Pakistani aircraft during the Marka-e-Haq operation in May 2025.

In an interview with Bloomberg, he stated that Pakistan’s defense strategy has consistently centered on integrating efficient and effective systems along with advancing indigenous military technology.

The DGISPR remarked that Pakistan remains receptive to acquiring technology from any source, saying, “We remain open to acquiring all kinds of technology—whether indigenous, Eastern, or Western.” He made it clear that Pakistan is not involved in any arms race with India and has never tried to distort or conceal defense-related information.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif mentioned that during the recent Marka-e-Haq operation, India was unable to down a single Pakistani aircraft.

He appreciated the performance of Pakistan’s weapon systems, particularly the Chinese-made platforms that have been incorporated into the country’s armed forces.

A week earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had also confirmed that seven Indian aircraft were shot down, Bloomberg reported. The magazine further stated that Pakistan’s Chinese-built J-10C fighter jets had destroyed several Indian Air Force aircraft, including Rafales, during the Marka-e-Haq operation.

According to the publication, Pakistan had earlier announced in August the addition of the Z-10ME attack helicopter to its military fleet.

Bloomberg also highlighted that Pakistan continues to employ both Chinese-made weapons and U.S.-manufactured F-16 fighter jets in its defense arsenal.
