Shehbaz, Aliyev reaffirm commitment to deepen Pakistan-Azerbaijan cooperation in diverse sectors

Baku (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Azerbaijan’s success over Armenia stands as an inspiration for oppressed nations seeking the right to self-determination, including the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine.

He expressed these sentiments during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Presidential Palace in Baku on Friday, which was also attended by Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

The Prime Minister extended congratulations to the government and people of Azerbaijan on their Victory Day, marking the nation’s decisive triumph in the 44-day Karabakh Liberation War against Armenia.

He also commended President Aliyev for concluding a historic peace deal with Armenia earlier this year.
Both leaders reviewed the overall state of bilateral ties and agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as politics, trade, investment, energy, regional connectivity, and defence.

Prime Minister Shehbaz invited President Aliyev to visit Pakistan at a suitable time, and the invitation was graciously accepted.

Expressing appreciation, President Aliyev thanked Pakistan for its steadfast backing of Azerbaijan’s legitimate cause in the Karabakh conflict and acknowledged Islamabad’s continued efforts in maintaining peace and stability across South Asia.
