Pakistan, KSA, Turkiye united by shared resolve for peace: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye as three brotherly nations bound by common faith, longstanding friendship and a shared commitment to promoting peace and security.

In a post shared on X, the prime minister said he had the honour of signing the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement alongside Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Shehbaz Sharif said the agreement represented an important milestone in relations among the three countries and expressed the hope that the historic understanding would serve as a lasting guarantee of peace and stability.

The prime minister prayed that the agreement, signed in the sacred city of Makkah in the shadow of the Haramain, would continue to act as a “shield of peace” for generations to come.

He further expressed the hope that the agreement would contribute to greater security, stability and prosperity not only for Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye but also for the wider Muslim Ummah.

Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, acknowledging his tireless efforts and strong commitment towards advancing the cause that led to the landmark agreement.

The prime minister said the contributions of the army chief had played a significant role in supporting the achievement of what he described as a major development for the three brotherly countries.
