CJCSC General Shamshad holds high-level talks in Brunei to strengthen defense ties

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, recently visited Brunei Darussalam, where both nations agreed to further strengthen defense cooperation. During the visit, General Mirza met with the Sultan of Brunei, who praised the professional standards and services of Pakistan’s armed forces.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this visit was of significant importance in the context of bilateral defense relations. In meetings, the Sultan of Brunei and the Pakistani delegation discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and enhancing defense collaboration. General Mirza emphasized the need for joint actions to further solidify the friendly ties between Pakistan and Brunei.

During the visit, General Mirza also met with Brunei’s Minister of Defense and the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, where they engaged in detailed discussions on defense strategies. The General visited the Muara Naval Base and Dar Al Aman, and also addressed participants at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Defense Academy, highlighting Pakistan's role in maintaining regional peace and stability.

At this occasion, General Mirza reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its defense and military relations with Brunei. He also interacted with students of the Academy’s Command and Staff Course, which included officers from 19 different countries.

Throughout the visit, both delegations discussed global and regional security issues in detail. The civilian and military leadership of Brunei praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their professional standards, successful anti-terrorism operations, and the sacrifices made by the country.

General Mirza was also presented with a Guard of Honor upon his arrival at the headquarters of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, symbolizing the strong and enduring relationship between the armed forces of Pakistan and Brunei.
