President Zardari in Kyrgyzstan on 4-day official visit

Bishkek (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari landed in the Kyrgyz Republic on Monday for a four-day official visit aimed at deepening ties between Islamabad and Bishkek.

Upon his arrival at Issyk-Kul International Airport, he was warmly welcomed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

A guard of honour was also presented to the Pakistani president to mark the occasion.

The visit carries historic significance, as President Zardari is the first Pakistani head of state to travel to the Kyrgyz Republic since the landmark visit of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in 1995.

During the visit, President Zardari and President Japarov are scheduled to hold comprehensive talks on the full range of bilateral relations while exploring new opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Their discussions will cover trade, investment, energy, mineral resources, agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, the digital economy, and initiatives to strengthen people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

The two leaders will also exchange views on further reinforcing the longstanding brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, while discussing ways to enhance regional cooperation and collaboration on issues of mutual importance.
