Punjab govt rejects proposal to close markets by 8pm

Lahore (Web Desk): According to sources, the Punjab government has not approved the proposal to close markets earlier.

The recommendations presented to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were not accepted at this time.

Sources from the Punjab Assembly stated that markets across the province will remain open until 10 PM.

The proposal to close markets earlier has been postponed, and further consultations will be held before any changes to business hours are made.

Traders’ associations and business representatives are being consulted as part of this process.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that consultations with traders are ongoing in Sindh as well.

Traders have raised some objections to closing markets by 8 PM, and discussions are underway. Once the consultations are complete, the federal government will be informed.
