DPM Dar discusses regional situation with Japanese, Portuguese FMs

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday spoke separately by phone with the foreign ministers of Japan and Portugal, focusing on the current tensions in the Middle East and the wider region, emphasizing the importance of urgent de-escalation.

During his conversation with Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, both leaders discussed the unfolding regional situation and stressed the urgent need to reduce tensions.

According to the Foreign Office (FO), Minister Motegi welcomed and commended Pakistan’s proactive efforts to foster dialogue and diplomacy as a means of promoting regional peace and stability.

Senator Dar reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at de-escalation and the pursuit of lasting stability. The two officials agreed to keep in regular contact.

In a separate call with Portugal’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel, Senator Dar highlighted the critical importance of de-escalation and shared Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to ensure enduring peace in the region.

The Portuguese minister expressed full support and appreciation for Pakistan’s role in facilitating constructive dialogue.

The two sides also recognized the positive progress in bilateral ties and resolved to enhance cooperation in all areas of shared interest, emphasizing the value of continued high-level engagement and close communication.
