Security forces kill 6 Indian-sponsored terrorists in Balochistan's Panjgur: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces killed six terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Panjgur district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IBO was conducted on the reported presence of India-backed terrorists.

"During the conduct of operation, own forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations. After intense fire exchanges, six terrorists were killed," the statement said. 

It added that weapons, ammunition, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and vehicle have also been recovered from the killed Indian sponsored terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

The military’s media wing said that sanitization operations were being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist in the area.

"Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision "Azm-e-Istehkam", as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, by security forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country," the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday lauded the security forces for conducting a successful operation in Panjgur that resulted in the elimination of six terrorists linked to the Indian-sponsored group Fitna-al-Hindustan.

In separate statements, the president and the premier stressed that anti-terror operations under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would continue relentlessly until the complete eradication of terrorist elements from the country.

President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism, asserting that Fitna-al-Hindustan and those backing the group would never be able to threaten the nation’s peace, unity, and stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the courage and professionalism of the security personnel, saying the militants were involved in plans aimed at endangering the lives and property of innocent Pakistani citizens.

The prime minister also reaffirmed the government’s firm resolve to root out terrorism and maintain a safe, secure, and peaceful environment across the country.
