At SCO moot, Interior Minister Naqvi calls for collective response to regional security challenges

Islamabad (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has urged countries in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to adopt a coordinated strategy to tackle the region's growing security concerns, including terrorism, transnational crime, narcotics trafficking, and cyber threats.

Addressing a special session of SCO Interior and Public Security Ministers in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, he stressed that lasting peace and stability can only be achieved through collective efforts.

The interior minister said that SCO member states must strengthen their cooperation to ensure a safer and more secure future for the region.

Naqvi highlighted the need for greater intelligence cooperation, joint evaluation of emerging threats, and stronger measures to curb the spread of extremist activities through digital platforms.

He noted that close collaboration among member countries is essential to effectively confront evolving security challenges.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to the principles of the Shanghai Spirit, Interior Minister Naqvi said the country's approach remains rooted in mutual confidence, equal partnership, cooperation, and respect for the sovereignty of all nations.
