Lahore (Staff Report): Sensor Board has put ban again on Indian film Raees’ release in Pakistan.
Indian movie Raees which was scheduled to hit Pakistani cinemas on Sunday, has been cancelled and is most likely to be banned due to its inappropriate portrayal of Muslims, according to sources close to the censor board.
An extremely negative image of Muslims is portrayed in the film, liquor sale and pomp and show can instigate unenthusiastic trends in society.
The movie is apparently demonizing and defaming Muslims for showing them as goons and notorious underworld figures.
According to sources, the representatives of security agencies in censor board were also part of the decision to ban the film and under above mentioned allegations the Sensor Board put ban on film’s release in Pakistan.
However, Sensor Board will take final decision about film’s launch next week after detail meeting.
