Pakistan, Turkiye agree to continue efforts for regional peace and stability

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to deliberate on the current regional climate.

During the conversation, the two leaders emphasized that all stakeholders must demonstrate the highest level of restraint to avoid aggravating the already fragile situation.

The prime minister conveyed his profound unease over the deepening turmoil in the Middle East, criticizing Israel’s attack on Iran and describing the subsequent strikes on other friendly Gulf nations as deeply unfortunate.

PM Shehbaz apprised President Erdogan about his recent engagements with leaders of brotherly Gulf states, reaffirming Pakistan’s complete solidarity with them and expressing readiness to extend constructive support toward diplomatic efforts designed to ease tensions.

The prime minister also shared updates with the Turkiye president regarding recent developments concerning Afghanistan.

The two agreeing to remain in close and frequent contact while continuing their joint efforts to foster peace and stability throughout the region.
