Pakistan's strategy against illegal migration becomes global model, says Talal Chaudhry

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has witnessed a significant reduction in illegal migration following the government's intensified crackdown on human smuggling and unlawful overseas travel, with the European Union acknowledging and appreciating the country's efforts.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the government's strategy to combat illegal migration has delivered encouraging results and is now being recognized internationally as an effective model.

Speaking about the government's measures, he said that policies introduced under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have resulted in a 47% decline in illegal migration.

He attributed the improvement to coordinated action by law enforcement agencies and stricter enforcement against human trafficking and illegal travel networks.

Talal Chaudhry said the government remains committed to eliminating human smuggling by taking firm action against criminal groups involved in facilitating illegal migration.

He added that authorities are also targeting individuals attempting to leave the country through unlawful channels in an effort to discourage irregular migration.

The minister noted that these measures have already produced positive outcomes, strengthening Pakistan's efforts to improve border management and migration controls.

He said the European Union's appreciation of Pakistan's performance reflects growing international confidence in the country's commitment to tackling illegal migration and dismantling human smuggling networks.
