Interior Naqvi Minister announces uniform system for issuing police clearance certificates

Islamabad (Web Desk): A meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Tuesday granted in-principle approval for introducing a uniform nationwide system for the issuance of Police Character Certificates.

The Interior Minister announced that Police Clearance Certificates will now be issued through the National Police Bureau.

He said the previous complicated procedure for obtaining these certificates has been simplified, expedited and converted into a fully online process.

Mohsin Naqvi also directed authorities to develop a standardized system for issuing International Driving Permits across the country.

He said the unified mechanism for Police Clearance Certificates and International Driving Permits would facilitate citizens, particularly those travelling abroad.

The Interior Minister emphasized that transforming the National Police Bureau into a more active and efficient institution remains among the government’s top priorities.

Paying tribute to police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, Naqvi said police martyrs are a source of national pride, and their sacrifices for maintaining peace and combating crime will always be remembered.
