Beijing (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to complete all necessary arrangements for rescue and relief efforts as water levels continue to rise in the Ravi, Chenab, and Sutlej rivers.

Speaking from China, where he is currently on an official visit, the prime minister telephoned NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik and emphasized the importance of issuing early warnings to the public about the potential flood threat.

He further directed the authority to extend full cooperation to provincial governments in order to speed up precautionary measures and relief operations.
