Caracas (Web Desk): Following the US military attacks on Venezuela and claims of President Nicolás Maduro's arrest during a supposed military operation, the country's Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, has issued her first official statement.
According to international news agencies, Vice President Rodríguez addressed the nation on state television, stating that the government has not yet received any verified information regarding President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.
She confirmed that the government is making continuous efforts to learn about the whereabouts and health condition of the president and his wife, but as of now, no official information has been received.
Vice President Rodríguez condemned the US military actions as a clear violation of international law and a serious act of imperialist aggression. She demanded that US President Donald Trump immediately provide proof of life for President Maduro and his wife.
According to Rodríguez, reports of fatalities have emerged from various parts of the country, including several government officials, military personnel, and civilians, due to the US attacks. She added that there is widespread anxiety and unrest across the nation.
