Islamabad (Web Desk): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House.
The two leaders shared a cordial meeting and exchanged pleasantries, symbolizing strong bilateral ties.
During the ceremony, the national anthems of both countries were played, and a guard of honor was presented by the armed forces to the Iranian president, which he also inspected.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced President Pezeshkian to members of his cabinet, while the Iranian president likewise introduced his delegation.
Following the introductions, President Pezeshkian planted a sapling at the Prime Minister’s House as a gesture of goodwill.
According to sources, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in energy, trade, and other key areas.
Several agreements and memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed during the visit.
A luncheon was arranged in honor of the Iranian president. Later in the evening, President Pezeshkian is scheduled to meet with President Arif Alvi, followed by a dinner reception.
Diplomatic circles regard this visit as a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and promoting mutual collaboration.
