Pakistan, China vow to further strengthen all-weather strategic cooperative partnership

Beijing (Web Desk): On Tuesday, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their iron-clad and all-weather strategic cooperative partnership by enhancing their bilateral cooperation, underscoring the unique nature of their relationship.

During a meeting at the Great Hall of the People, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed that the ties between their two countries are unparalleled and should be reflected through increased collaboration.

The two leaders also discussed key regional and global developments and expressed their intention to continue close cooperation on these matters.

PM Shehbaz reiterated his commitment to working closely with China on the successful implementation of the next phase of the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which will include five new corridors.

He extended congratulations to President Xi Jinping on the successful conclusion of the SCO Council of Heads of State Summit held in Tianjin and offered felicitations on the 80th anniversary of the World’s Anti-Fascist War.

The prime minister praised President Xi Jinping’s visionary and transformational leadership, which has guided China’s path toward modernization and progress.

He expressed pride in China’s achievements and affirmed Pakistan’s readiness to continue collaborating closely with China on this journey. Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated China’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and socio-economic development, highlighting the significance of CPEC as a flagship project of President Xi’s Belt and Road Initiative, which aims to build a stronger Pakistan-China community with a shared future.

PM Shehbaz lauded President Xi’s dedication to strengthening multilateralism, expressing Pakistan’s full support for China’s landmark initiatives including the Global Governance Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.

These efforts, he noted, are designed to serve the global good and contribute to peace, stability, and development on both regional and international levels.

President Xi Jinping assured continued Chinese assistance in all areas of Pakistan’s economic growth and development, especially as the two countries embark on the second phase of CPEC, focusing on Pakistan’s key economic sectors.

PM Shehbaz renewed his “most cordial” invitation to President Xi Jinping to visit Pakistan next year, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
