Pakistan will continue decisive actions against cross-border terrorism, says Khawaja Asif

Islamabad (Web Desk): Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan will continue its decisive actions against cross-border terrorism without any ambiguity. In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he stated that there is a national consensus on Pakistan’s security policies and its relations with Afghanistan.

Khawaja Asif stressed that the people of Pakistan, particularly those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are fully aware of the terrorism being carried out through Indian proxies operating under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban. Criticizing the Taliban administration, he remarked that it has failed to implement effective policies at the global level due to its internal divisions and governance weaknesses.

He further said that the Taliban regime has not fulfilled its commitments and continues to violate the rights of women, children, and minorities in Afghanistan. The minister accused the Taliban of pursuing external agendas to divert attention from their internal crises, warning that their policies near Pakistan’s borders are contributing to the spread of terrorism.

Speaking about Pakistan’s Afghanistan policy, Khawaja Asif emphasized that it is rooted in national interest and aimed at ensuring regional peace and stability. He asserted that Pakistan will take all necessary steps to protect its citizens, adding that false statements cannot alter reality, and trust can only be built through concrete actions.

The defence minister reaffirmed that Pakistan remains steadfast in its resolve to eliminate cross-border terrorism and will continue to take necessary measures fearlessly to ensure its national security.
