Islamabad (Web Desk): Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed the government's dedication to driving sustainable and inclusive economic growth by focusing on increasing productivity and boosting exports.
In a virtual meeting with representatives from Standard and Poor (S&P) Global Ratings, he stressed the importance of continuing reforms in key areas such as taxation, energy, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), privatization, public finance management, and the implementation of more effective debt management strategies. These reforms are designed to create a more resilient economy.
Aurangzeb shared that foreign exchange reserves are expected to reach $14 billion by the end of June, supported by forthcoming institutional and trade inflows, strong remittance streams, and favorable movements in oil prices.
In a separate Zoom session with the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI), the finance minister outlined the steps taken to stabilize the economy, which include stringent fiscal management, enhanced collaboration between federal and provincial governments, and the strengthening of institutional structures.

Aurangzeb reiterated that the government’s policy framework aims not only to maintain macroeconomic stability but also to foster long-term growth driven by the private sector.
The OICCI acknowledged the government's proactive approach in engaging with international stakeholders and praised the ongoing focus on structural reforms.
It also noted early signs of improved investor sentiment and reaffirmed its willingness to work alongside the government to help accelerate economic progress.
