'Conversations are continuing,' says Trump, calls reports of halted US-Iran talks 'false and erroneous'

Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports suggesting that negotiations between the United States and Iran have stalled, insisting that communication between the two countries remains active.

In a statement posted on social media, Trump said media reports claiming that Washington and Tehran had stopped talking to each other a few days ago were inaccurate and misleading.

He maintained that discussions between the two sides have continued without interruption and that both parties have remained in contact over the past several days.

The US president said it was too early to predict the final outcome of the talks but stressed that the time had come for progress toward an agreement.

Trump added that he had conveyed a clear message to the Iranian leadership, urging them to move forward and reach a deal.

He also remarked that the status quo of the past 47 years could no longer continue and that meaningful steps toward an agreement were now necessary.
