Risalpur (Web Desk): Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu praised the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its outstanding performance, recalling how country’s air force successfully downed India’s most advanced aircraft when the country’s sovereignty was challenged.
Addressing the graduating cadets at the PAF Academy in Risalpur, he assured that the PAF would be even stronger, better equipped, and fully prepared should Pakistan face any future threats.
Sidhu reflected on Pakistan’s historic triumph in Operation Marka-e-Haq’, attributing it to the flawless coordination among all branches of the armed forces, timely decision-making, and the strong leadership of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He highlighted the presence of Saudi cadets at the ceremony as a reflection of the strong friendship and military cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Sidhu reminded the new officers that they are entrusted with the sacred duty of defending the nation’s skies.
He emphasized that the hopes of the entire country now rest on their shoulders and praised the combined efforts of Pakistan’s military in overcoming a numerically superior enemy, particularly during Operation Marka-e-Haq.
The air chief credited this victory to the decisive leadership, coordinated strategies, and guidance of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He described the operation not only as a military success but also as a testament to the unity and shared purpose of the armed forces, bolstered by divine support.
Reflecting on past challenges, Sidhu noted that despite having limited aircraft, the PAF managed to neutralize the enemy’s most sophisticated fighter jets, continuing a legacy of achieving extraordinary results through skill and precision.
The air chief also lauded the PAF’s strategic planning, highlighting that every operation is carefully calibrated to the situation, aiming always to secure peace with honor. He noted that recent conflicts provided a textbook example of modern air warfare and showcased the innovative integration of air power with advanced technology.
Looking ahead to 2025, Sidhu expressed confidence that the PAF would continue to demonstrate its professionalism and superiority in every field. He emphasized that the Air Force’s doctrines are designed to align with wartime strategies while taking into account the limitations of resources and available technology.
He also spoke about the Smart Induction Program, through which advanced fighter jets and technologies are being incorporated to keep the PAF at the cutting edge, enabling rapid adaptation and strengthening national defense capabilities.
Sidhu expressed immense pride in the professionalism, bravery, and coordination of Pakistan’s armed forces, particularly the PAF, for defending the nation’s borders under challenging circumstances.
He reiterated that Pakistan remains a peaceful country seeking friendly ties with all nations, yet as a responsible nuclear power, it has strengthened its global and regional standing.
The air chief affirmed that, with strong leadership, dedicated armed forces, and the unwavering resolve of the people, Pakistan will continue to safeguard its ideological, geographical, and aerial borders under any circumstances.
The graduation parade at Asghar Khan Academy Risalpur saw cadets from the 151 GDP, 97 Engineering, and 108 Air Defense courses completing their training.
Among the cadets, 98 from the Royal Saudi Air Force also graduated.
The ceremony concluded with an impressive aerial display, featuring flypasts by PAF fighter jets and a spectacular performance by the Sherdil Aerobatics Team.
