Govt announces new petroleum prices

Islamabad (Web Desk): The government has revised petroleum prices for September, increasing the price of petrol while reducing the rate of diesel.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs0.77 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs342.79 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs1.03 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs370.41 per litre.

The revised prices will come into effect from September 1, 2026, according to the notification.

The government had last revised petroleum prices on August 28, when petrol was reduced by 58 paisas per litre and diesel by 17 paisas per litre.

Petroleum prices are generally not revised over the weekend due to official holidays. The latest adjustment was therefore announced at the start of the new business week for the month of September.
