California (Web Desk): WhatsApp is reportedly introducing a much-requested feature that users have been waiting for for a long time.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices has introduced a “sign out” option. This feature will allow users to log out of their accounts without deleting the app, chats, or saved data.
The update marks a significant change in the messaging platform, as it will enable users to temporarily sign out of WhatsApp and later log back in easily without reinstalling the application or going through the full setup process again.
Currently, WhatsApp does not offer a traditional log-out option, forcing users who want to disconnect from the app to either uninstall it or keep it active on their devices.
With the new feature, users’ chat history, stored data, and account access details will remain intact even after signing out. The log-out option will reportedly be available in the account settings menu and will require a brief confirmation step before completion.
Once confirmed, the account will be signed out from the device without deleting any data, making future sign-ins faster and more convenient.
Since the feature is currently in beta testing, it remains unclear when it will be rolled out to all users globally.
