DPM Dar reviews preparations for upcoming OIC women's conference

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday led the sixth meeting of the High-Level Committee overseeing preparations for the 9th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women, which Pakistan is set to host on July 12–13, 2026.

The committee carried out a comprehensive review of the final arrangements for the international gathering, examining the proposed programme, conference agenda, security and protocol measures, logistical planning, media and communication strategy, coordination among ministries, and other administrative matters.

Members of the committee also discussed the remaining steps needed to ensure the event is conducted efficiently and without disruption.

The conference is expected to receive delegates from all 57 member states of OIC, providing a platform to enhance collaboration on women's empowerment, inclusion, and sustainable development.

During the meeting, DPM Dar praised the Ministry of Human Rights for the progress made in organising the conference.

He also instructed all concerned ministries and departments to continue working in close coordination and complete the outstanding preparations within the required timeline.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar and Shaza Fatima, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, Human Rights Secretary Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, along with other senior government officials.
