Security forces kill 13 Indian-sponsored terrorists in separate KP operations: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Thirteen khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed by security forces in two separate engagements in Khyber and Bannu districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the security forces in general area Bara, Khyber District.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged khwarijs’ location and after an intense fire exchange, ten khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

Another IBO was conducted by Security forces in Bannu District. In ensuing fire exchange, three khwarij were effectively neutralized.

The military’s media wing said that sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored khwarji in the area.

“Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday praised the country’s security forces for conducting effective operations against Fitna al Khawarij militants in the Khyber District and Bannu District, resulting in the killing of 13 terrorists.

In their separate statements, the president and the premier reaffirmed their strong resolve to rid the country of terrorism in all its forms.

President Zardari noted that sustained action against militants, especially those backed by external forces, was crucial for maintaining national security and ensuring the safety of the people.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the armed forces.

“The security forces are standing like an iron wall against terrorism to safeguard the country,” he added.
