Islamabad (Web Desk): The primary schools across the country resumed classes on Wednesday under strict Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The federal government had announced to reopen primary schools across the country from today (Wednesday), September 30.
“It has been unanimously decided that classes will be started from September 30 in primary schools.” Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said while talking to media.
“In National Command Operation Center’s (NCOC) meeting government took all stakeholders onboard,” he added.
“All stakeholders were consulted in decision making,” the minister maintained. Representatives of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) were also present in NCOC meeting.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood visited different schools in Islamabad to review the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
"It is our collective responsibility to adhere to the precautionary measures against Covid-19," he said.
On September 15, educational institutions across the country reopened after a six-month coronavirus break.
In March, the government had decided to close school, colleges and universities in March in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
