Aleema Khan's CNIC and passport blocked, court reissues her arrest warrants

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), in a report submitted to an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, informing that the computerised national identity card (CNIC) and passport of Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, have been deactivated in accordance with a judicial order.

The proceedings are connected to the protest held on November 26, in which Aleema and ten other individuals were listed as accused.

During Thursday’s hearing, presided over by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, several co-accused and prosecution witnesses appeared before the court, while Aleema Khan and her legal representatives were absent once again.

Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah, along with his team, attended the session.

Given her consistent failure to appear before the court, non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan were reissued for the sixth time.

NADRA also presented its compliance report, confirming that her CNIC and passport had been blocked as per the court’s directions.

The court additionally took up the matter of Arif Khan, another suspect accused of taking possession of a vehicle used during the same protest.

As the suspect did not provide the required surety bonds, the judge ordered his detention.

After issuing directives to the prosecution to ensure implementation of all court orders, the hearing was adjourned until the next date.
