Washington (Web Desk): United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has lauded Pakistan’s contribution to regional diplomacy and its efforts to reduce tensions in the region, particularly in the context of developments involving Iran.
Addressing the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, he acknowledged the roles of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in supporting peace and stability initiatives.
He noted that an “unexpected development” and a strengthening relationship are emerging between the United States and Pakistan, describing it as an important positive shift.
Pete Hegseth also referred to former US President Donald Trump’s involvement in efforts aimed at maintaining peace between India and Pakistan.
