Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz announces medical college in Layyah

Layyah (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the immediate establishment of a medical college in Layyah, aiming to improve healthcare and educational opportunities in the area.

Addressing a ceremony to distribute Honhaar Scholarship and Laptop in Layyah on Friday, the Punjab CM underscored her government’s commitment to ensuring that every student has access to the resources they need to succeed.

She highlighted key expansions in student support initiatives.

The Punjab CM announced an increase in the number of scholarships, raising them from 30,000 to 50,000.

Additionally, she revealed that the government would be boosting the annual distribution of laptops from 30,000 to 100,000 units.

Emphasizing the importance of education, she stated that it is a right, not a favour, and stressed the role of the government as a responsible guardian for the youth.

In a passionate address, she told the audience, “I am answerable to you, the youth of Punjab,” encouraging students to make the most of these opportunities to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the country’s future.

Expressing her personal connection to the region, she shared her affection for Layyah, saying that while it may be a small city, it holds a special place in her heart—just like Dera Ghazi Khan.

CM Maryam concluded by assuring the public that more development projects are in the pipeline for the people of Punjab, reaffirming her administration’s focus on timely progress and inclusive growth.
