Upper Dir (Web Desk): At least 12 people including 9 children of a same family were killed when a house collapsed due to landsliding in Patrak Maidan area of Upper Dir on Friday morning.
According tor reports, the landslide occurred due to heavy rainfall in the area, which caused the soil to erode and result in a tragic incident.
A large number of local residents, along with personnel from Rescue 1122 Upper Dir, police, Dir Levies, and Civil Defence, participated in the rescue operations.
As per the law enforcement and rescue officials, all 12 bodies have been retrieved from the debris and sent to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) is forecasting more widespread rain with windstorms all across the country during the next 24 hours.
In a statement, the Met Office said heavy rainfall is likely in Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan, northeast/central Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period.
Heavy rains may trigger landslides in Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
