PPP finalises Chaudhry Yasin as nominee for AJK prime minister slot

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has selected Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin as its nominee for the office of Prime Minister in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), marking a notable turn in the region’s political landscape.

Sources within the party disclosed that the decision was reached during a meeting chaired by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, with key figures from the party’s AJK chapter in attendance.

Among those considered for the position were Chaudhry Yasin, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, and Sardar Yaqub Khan.

After thorough deliberations with regional representatives and senior members, Bilawal gave final approval to Yasin’s name, a move viewed as a reflection of consensus within the party’s ranks.

An official statement confirming the decision is expected later tonight.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that a no-confidence motion could be presented in the AJK Legislative Assembly within the next 24 hours, potentially setting the stage for a change in government.
