Pakistan ready for $2 billion Azerbaijan investment for mutual benefits: PM Shehbaz 

Lachin (Web Desk/Agencies): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is ready to receive a $2 billion investment from Azerbaijan across various sectors.

Speaking to Azerbaijan TV before his departure from Lachin to Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe, following the conclusion of his three-day official visit, the prime minister shared the outcome of his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Yesterday, President Ilham Aliyev again reiterated his commitment to invest $2 billion in Pakistan. We are ready for this investment for mutual benefits,” PM Shehbaz said.

The premier also highlighted his participation in the ceremony marking Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, which was observed on May 28.

He noted that the date holds special importance for Pakistan as well, stating that “May 28 was also a very important day for Pakistan as the country became a nuclear power on that date in 1998.”

The prime minister described Azerbaijan as a “brotherly and great” nation and credited its remarkable development to the “dynamic” leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

He added that both countries had in-depth discussions on enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, commerce, and investment. Looking ahead, he said that “In future, Pakistan and Azerbaijan will pursue stronger ties in commerce, defence production, education, health, and other sectors,” PM Shehbaz said.
