Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The security forces on Saturday killed six terrorists in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Kalat district of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to news release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists location and after an intense fire exchange, six terrorists were successfully neutralized.
“The killed terrorists remained actively involved in recent terrorist activities in the area against the law enforcement agencies as well as the innocent civilians, ” the statement said.
The military’s media wing said that sanitisation operation was being conducted in the area to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.
“The security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the officers and personnel of the security forces for their successful operation against terrorists in Kalat District of Balochistan.
In his statement, President Zardari reaffirmed resolve that counterterrorism operations will continue until the complete eradication of terrorist elements.
He reiterated the nation's collective resolve to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability in the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif , in his remarks, emphasized that the fight against terrorism will continue until the menace is completely eradicated from the country.
“The entire nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces of Pakistan in their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the motherland from the nefarious designs of terrorists,” the premier said.
