Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the construction of 800 mini dams across the Pothohar region in a major effort to improve rainwater storage and strengthen water conservation.

Chairing a meeting on agriculture transformation and water management in Lahore on Wednesday, she reviewed progress on water conservation and groundwater management across the province.

The Punjab CM was briefed on the progress of ongoing initiatives aimed at conserving water and managing groundwater reserves throughout Punjab.

During the meeting, the Punjab CM directed the Agriculture, Irrigation, Housing, and Local Government departments to coordinate their efforts under a single "One Window Water Security" framework to ensure an integrated and effective approach to safeguarding the province's water resources.
