Pakistan, Kuwait agree to institutionalize bilateral ties

Islamabad  (Web Desk): Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to enhance bilateral ties by establishing stronger institutional connections and increasing regular high-level interactions between the two countries.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad.

During the delegation-level discussions, co-chaired by both leaders, the two sides conducted a comprehensive review of Pakistan-Kuwait relations and explored measures to further expand cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, labour, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, mining and minerals, defence, and economic collaboration.

Both countries reiterated their resolve to continue close coordination and mutual support at international and multilateral forums on matters of shared interest.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government and people for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the visit. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s assistance to Kuwait during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to its longstanding and fraternal relationship with Kuwait, stressing Islamabad’s desire to broaden mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields.

The two sides also discussed regional and global developments of common concern, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East and Palestine.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister praised Pakistan’s positive role in supporting regional peace, stability, and cooperation.
