Rain, snowfall expected across Pakistan from January 31 to February 3: PMD

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting rain and snowfall in various regions of the country from January 31 to February 3.

The department has warned of a significant change in weather patterns during this period, which could lead to slippery roads and traffic disruptions.

According to the forecast, light rain is expected to occur intermittently from February 1 to February 3 in Islamabad, the Pothohar Region, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and surrounding areas. Additionally, snowfall is expected in the hilly areas of Murree, Galyat, and their nearby regions.

From January 31 to February 1, northern Balochistan, including areas such as Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, and Pishin, is likely to experience heavy winds along with rain and snowfall. In the mountainous regions of Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, and Mansehra, snowfall could make roads slippery, affecting traffic flow and creating hazards for travelers.

The Meteorological Department has also highlighted the risk of landslides in the upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan due to the expected snowfall and rain. The department has urged tourists and locals to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution in these areas.

From January 31 to February 3, the weather across Pakistan is expected to undergo significant changes, with rain and snowfall likely to affect many regions. Mountainous areas could face challenges such as slippery roads and landslides. Citizens have been advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period.
