3 TTP terrorists involved in attacks on Chinese nationals killed in Karachi operation: CTD

Karachi (Web Desk): In a joint operation conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies in Karachi, three terrorists were killed.

According to officials, the operation began in the Manghopir area following actionable intelligence about the presence of terrorists affiliated with a proscribed organization.

Raja Omar Khattab, the in-charge of the CTD, said that the terrorists were members of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were involved in attacks targeting foreign nationals. The security forces launched a raid on a house based on intelligence inputs, which led to an exchange of fire with the terrorists.

During the encounter, three terrorists were killed on the spot, including one suicide bomber. Weapons recovered from the deceased included an assault rifle (Kalashnikov), pistols, grenades, suicide jackets, and a diary containing names of potential targets.

The slain terrorists have been identified as Zafran and Qudratullah. Notably, Zafran had a bounty of Rs20 million placed on his head by the government. The identity of the third terrorist is yet to be confirmed.

It was also revealed that the terrorists had recently entered Pakistan from Afghanistan. The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the hospital for necessary legal formalities, and further investigations are underway by law enforcement agencies.
