Pakistan celebrates Eid-ul-Azha with religious zeal, fervour

Islamabad (Web Desk): The nation is celebrating Eid-ul-Azha today (Wednesday) with great religious zeal and fervour to commemorate great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).

The day dawned with special prayers offered in mosques for the unity and welfare of the Muslim Ummah, along with peace, stability, and development for the country.

Large Eid prayers congregations took place at mosques, Eidgahs, and open grounds in cities, towns, and villages nationwide.

During Eid sermon, religious scholars  explained the importance and message behind the supreme sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).

Following the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), people are performing the ritual sacrifice of animals on the occasion.

To ensure peaceful celebrations, both federal and provincial authorities have implemented comprehensive security measures to prevent any unpleasant incidents during the festivities.

Meanwhile, the local administrations of cities and towns across the country have also made special arrangements for the disposal of offal and other solid waste during Eid holidays.
