Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Friday stated that Pakistan has responded decisively to unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban.
In a statement, the minister said that the country’s armed forces had effectively utilized their expertise to protect the nation during testing circumstances.
The minister added that Pakistan’s resolute response had forced the Afghan Taliban into a defensive posture, leaving them uncertain and prompting attempts to circulate false information on social media.
He pointed out that even an international news channel had been misled by Taliban propaganda and subsequently had to remove its tweet.
Elaborating on the countermeasures, Tarar said Pakistani security forces had destroyed critical Taliban ammunition storage sites and battalion headquarters.
He further noted that the Pakistan Air Force conducted precision attacks on Taliban defensive positions in Kandahar, Kabul, and Paktia.
“Once again, Pakistan’s military has demonstrated that any act of aggression or hostile intent against the country will be met with a strong and uncompromising response,” he asserted.
Tarar emphasized that the nation fully supports its armed forces, whose professionalism and swift action had earned national pride.
He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the timely and courageous actions of the armed forces under the leadership of Chief of the Army Staff (COAF) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, highlighting their readiness and competence in defending Pakistan’s security and sovereignty.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Tarar warned that the use of Afghan territory to carry out attacks against Pakistan would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The information minister stressed that terrorists trained on Afghan soil continue to target Pakistan, and any such aggression will be confronted with a firm and decisive response.
