Islamabad (Web Desk): China has once again expressed its firm commitment to supporting Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic advancement.
This message was conveyed by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong during a formal meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
During the discussions, the prime minister reiterated the strength of the enduring “all-weather” strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the deep mutual trust, steadfast friendship, and shared dedication to safeguarding each other’s core interests.
He also conveyed heartfelt greetings to President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and the Chinese leadership and people, particularly on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude for China’s continued support to Pakistan across economic, security, and developmental arenas, highlighting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a flagship initiative of the Belt and Road Initiative and a central pillar of bilateral collaboration.
He stressed the importance of speeding up ongoing CPEC projects and called for enhanced cooperation in agriculture, information technology, mining, and minerals.
The prime minister also underlined Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring a safe and favorable environment for Chinese personnel, investments, and institutions operating in the country.
Ambassador Jiang briefed the premier on recent developments in bilateral ties and relayed warm greetings from the Chinese leadership.
The two sides exchanged views on regional and international matters of shared interest and agreed to continue close coordination and consultation to advance peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
