Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen its all-weather strategic partnership with China, describing the relationship as a key pillar of the country’s foreign policy.
The assurance came during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, who called on the premier in Islamabad on Thursday.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz highlighted the positive trajectory in ties between Islamabad and Beijing, emphasizing the need to further promote people-to-people engagement alongside stronger cooperation between the political leadership and parliamentary institutions of both nations.
Ambassador Jiang delivered a letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which he conveyed his appreciation for the prime minister’s message sent on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on enhancing bilateral collaboration, while both sides reviewed regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
