PCB completes technical evaluation for 2 new PSL teams

Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the technical evaluation of bids for the two new teams of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL). According to the PCB spokesperson, the board received 12 bids for the two new franchises, out of which 10 were deemed eligible after a thorough assessment.

The eligible bidders will participate in the auction process, which will take place on 8th January 2026 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. Successful bidders will have the opportunity to choose a city from Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, or Sialkot for their team.

The CEO of PSL, Sultan Naseer, congratulated the eligible bidders and welcomed the strong interest from both local and foreign investors. He also mentioned that the expansion of HBL PSL is a significant step forward, and more details regarding the auction will be shared soon.

The expansion of the league with new franchises marks an exciting development in Pakistan’s cricketing landscape, and the PCB is hopeful that this will bring further growth to the league.
