Pakistan Army foils infiltration attempt, strikes back at Taliban positions in border clash

Peshawar (Web Desk): Tensions intensified along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border after Afghan Taliban fighters opened unprovoked fire in the border regions of South Waziristan, including Angoor Adda and Zallol Khel.

In a swift and decisive response, the Pakistan Army targeted and destroyed several militant positions, effectively neutralizing the sources of fire. Security officials confirmed that the timely action also disrupted an attempted infiltration by the group identified as “Fitanah-ul-Khawarij,” preventing them from entering Pakistani territory.

Following the failure of their infiltration attempt, the Afghan Taliban reportedly resorted to firing in nearby civilian-populated areas, escalating the situation further. As a result of the exchange of fire, three civilians sustained injuries, among them two women. All the injured were immediately shifted to Wana Hospital for medical treatment.

Officials stated that ongoing counter-militancy efforts under “Operation Ghazab lil Haq” have caused substantial losses to militant elements. In response to mounting pressure, the groups have increasingly resorted to targeting civilian locations.

Meanwhile, local residents strongly condemned the attack and expressed support for the Pakistan Army’s actions, urging continued and firm retaliation against any such future aggression.
