DPM Dar reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to deepen ties with Egypt, Algeria

Jeddah (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to deepen its partnerships with North African countries, including Algeria and Egypt.

The foreign minister said this during “meaningful interaction” with Foreign Minister of Egypt Badr Abdelatty and Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, on sidelines of 21st extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Minister of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across multiple sectors and boosting regional connectivity to promote mutual development and stronger diplomatic ties.

The leaders also exchanged views on the deteriorating situation in Palestine.

They jointly expressed deep concern over the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region and called for an immediate ceasefire.

The urgent need for humanitarian assistance and a sustainable peace was underscored, with the leaders highlighting the critical role of unity and collective action within the Muslim world in addressing these pressing challenges.

In a separate meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, DPM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine amid the escalating crisis.

Sharing a message on his official X account, he emphasized the dire need for humanitarian relief and international attention to the worsening famine and suffering in the region.

He also spoke about Pakistan’s close and enduring relationship with Turkiye, expressing optimism about further advancing multifaceted collaboration between the two brotherly countries.

These diplomatic exchanges reflect Pakistan’s active engagement in regional and global affairs, particularly within the framework of the OIC, and its continued advocacy for peace, solidarity, and cooperation among Muslim nations.
