Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz vows to protect minority rights at Christmas ceremony in Lahore

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, during a Christmas event, vowed to protect the rights of minorities, stating, "As long as I am the Chief Minister, if any member of a minority group faces injustice in Punjab, I will stand against it like a wall of steel."

She emphasized that there would be no compromise on the rights of minorities and assured that any issues related to minority cemeteries or other concerns would be addressed immediately. Maryam Nawaz directed minority leader Ramesh Singh Arora to provide details of the budget required for the welfare of the minority community so that the government could resolve these issues.

The Chief Minister further stated, "We are not just Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, or Hindus, but Pakistanis," and expressed her commitment to making Punjab a better place for minorities. She stressed that no one would be allowed to violate the rights of minorities.

Maryam Nawaz also praised the efforts of the "Suthra Punjab" workers for cleaning the churches and assured that this initiative would continue to make the province safer and more pleasant for all citizens. She mentioned that "all places of worship belonging to different religions in Punjab are being cleaned and improved."

The Punjab Chief Minister also emphasized that minorities have as much right to the provincial budget as any other group, adding that any government failing to protect minority rights should step down. Furthermore, she revealed plans to increase the amount allocated for the minority card from 75,000 to 100,000 rupees to further improve the welfare of minorities.

In conclusion, Maryam Nawaz stated, "We must make Punjab an example to the world and show that all citizens of the province are united and safe, standing together like a wall of steel. Punjab has truly made minorities its crown and part of its heart."
